The Taylor-Davis Family: Week Four

Oct 25, 2015 22:16

From the round-up of Week Three: Someone got a genie lamp, and it was used for money (duh); Delaina had a weird, quasi-affair with Graham Thatcher thanks to ACR, but Jesse didn't care, even though they were making out right next to him; the twins and Leo grew up; and Leo worked on building a romance with his childhood friend, Kayla Archer.

Starting with this round, I'm going to do those Random Occuring Scenerios, although I'm not using the program everyone else uses - I just put all the scenerios that sound interesting to me in an excel sheet and I'm using a random number generator to figure out what happens.

small event: paint [9] paintings and see what the public thinks of your talent
big event: nothing - the week goes on like normal

Delaina will be our artist for the week.

I added on this little painting nook right between the kitchen and the downstairs bathroom. It's small, but I hope it inspires Delaina to create some masterpieces.

Nine is a lot of pictures to paint, so Delaina got started right away.

Leo was a great older brother who would never dream of playing loud computer games in the same bedroom that his younger siblings were trying to sleep in - oh, wait, he's not all that considerate, how could I be so silly to think that?

Jesse continues to have a pretty boring life. His sister hasn't hired him at the grocery store they both dreamed of opening before they came to Sunset Bay, and with the kids at school and Delaina at work most days, eh doesn't have much to do other than eat quick meals and sit at the computer. Perk up - maybe something will actually happen this week!
*foreshadowing of horrible, horrible things to happen*

Delaina, why are you talking to a not-so-attractive Maxis teenager? You're already spoken for!

Stay away from the freaking teenagers, Delaina!

Wow, no wonder Vanessa hasn't hired her brother - someone is apparently neglecting his sisterly bond.

Why, Kayla, fancy seeing you here!

They only had one bolt of chemistry and since I want them together so much they're so great together, Leo took his special elixir or whatever to better match them.

It apparently worked quite well!

See, they're perfect together!

And then Leo goes into annoying big brother mood and things go downhill slightly.

Hmm, maybe Kayla doesn't mind that much - they're definitely perfectly for each other!

Leo, that is your mother and stepfather's bed!
Leo and Kayla: *don't care at all*

After he was done basking in the afterglow, Leo was feeling lucky and decided to fix Olivia's computer - it didn't go so well.

Like, at all.

Aw, Olivia is so worried for her big brother - of course, this would be a lot more adorable if there weren't thousands of volts of electricity coarsing through your brother at the same time.

Um, WHAT?! What is happening?!

No, don't come INTO the room that is currently on fire, LEAVE that room!

WHAT IS HAPPENING? WHAT IS IT WITH THIS FAMILY AND FIRES?!

And Owen simply doesn't care.

WHY IS THE GRIM REAPER HERE?!
Horrible, horrible spoiler: Jesse died. He was apparently so tired of having nothing to do that he let himself fall prey to a freaking fire!

Oh, now you decide to help out, huh?

Olivia is not taking things too well - she's got a serious case of denial going on right now.

O.O
I don't think I can take much of this - they're all so sad! Olivia is the only one I took a picture of, but trust me, she's not the only one heartbroken over this tragedy.

So... yeah, I got this again, because apparently this should be a fixture at this house now.

Jesse: Wow, I have fingers again!
Delaina: So what - I have artistic fingers!
They're a perfect, finger-obsessed pair, aren't they?

There's a better display of enthusiasm.

Um, excuse me? They spent all their money, which was about $5,000 - just how much money do you need?
Also, I have yet to see any deficiencies, and this was about halfway through the week - maybe the worst is yet to come?

Olivia apparently got distracted by his pillow fight and failed to notice that her father was already resurrected...

Really, this is all you want to do now that you're alive again? *sigh*

Painting #1

Eventually he started taking advantage of his new lease on life.

He just came back to life - why are you giving him such a hard time, Vanessa?

Owen's new friend, Lila Delaney, looks just darling with her little polka dots and purple-tinged hair.

Painting #2

Really, this is what you dream about, after your partner came back to life?
You can see where her priorities lie.

She appeased me slightly by being adorable with said newly-alive-partner.

The twins are enjoying the last bits of their childhood by finishing up their homework.

Owen: Do you ever get the sense that we're living in a fishbowl or something?
Jesse: Hmm, I see what you mean.
Olivia: Does anyone care that I'm now tall enough to sit in the chess chairs without a pile of phone books? No, not anyone? Whatever, I care.

Owen isn't ready to let go of his childood yet. See, these are the moments that you came back for, Jesse!

Owen: Is this another moment he came back for?
Honestly - it might be the main reason he came back.
Owen: Is this one of the things I'll understand when I'm older?
Quite possibly - so grow up already!

Owen: Ooh, now I understand.
*rolling eyes*

Pleasure - Flirty

Fortune - Optimist

Painting #3

Painting #4

Hey, don't make fun of a poor little boy whose name I don't remember!

You are awful people.

Painting #5

Jesse smartly studies up on fire safety.

Acting like a kid doesn't mean that I'm going to forgive you for mocking a kid.

Painting #6

Pillow fights in the snow - that makes sense.

Hello creepy townie - what are you plotting?

Painting #7

Painting #8

Painting #9!
And with that, Delaina completed this week's challenge - to show off her work, she decided to have a little party.

Britta went straight to the fridge - she obviously needs a steadier income so that she can pay for groceries.

Delaina! Graham! Both of your current partners are here, probably in the same room - get away from each other!

Speaking of Trinity, Olivia wanted to meet the mother of her half-brother and her mother's ex-lover - complicated as that relationship might be.

Trinity was a little more interested in her actual child, though, while Owen was confused while trying to figure out the family relationships.

IF YOU DIE AGAIN, YOU STAY DEAD!
Spoiler: he didn't die - maybe he's a little luckier this time around.

At the end of the week, Leo was the first Sunset Bay child to head off to college at Sunset Bay University (I know, so original)! Olivia was sad to see her brother go - and apparently no one else cared? Well, it's not like the school is all that far away.

And that's it for the Taylor-Davis family this week - we'll end with this awkwardly-posed family portrait. I know, Olivia, your family is weird, but they're yours, so get over it.

Notes:
- how do you like the new header images? I wanted something new, but I'm not sure if I'm sold on this design/font combination - I might change it next round, but I'm going to try to keep each round uniform, so nothing until week 5
- at the end of this week, I'll do a quick intro post to Sunset Bay University, and that's where you'll see a portrait with Leo and any other teenagers who head off to college at the end of the week
- for most, if not all of the teenagers currently in relationships, their partners will head off to college as well - we'll get to see if these relationships survive the trials of college life or not
