Okay - um. Not disappointed with the episode or the show at all, it's just...this is really tough and I hope it's over soon. Next episode looks like it might have more answers since we didn't get much this week. I know some of my friends still haven't seen the episode, so I'm trying not to give much away. Rest under the cut.
Intro girl worked at Big Gerson's! Couldn't help but giggle a little over that. Talk about some harsh truths though, ouch. Same kind of suicide shot similar to the one back in "Simon Said". Except for the fact that the Big Gerson's sign says "happy place" on it. Ah, Supernatural <3
Sam has been making all of us uncomfortable for a good while, but seeing Dean so cautious and afraid of him was REALLY unsettling. I felt like I was watching a horror movie. Sam asking Dean about Lisa....just felt like he was really so unconcerned. Dean's wary eyes are tough to watch.
Sam's interview just felt so cold. Makes me think back when Sam was the softer side/ necessary side to the interrogation. And even though he's acting so different, I can't help swooning over his smug smirks as he gets the information he needs. Shit.
Dentist's patient was a douchebag,he gave me goosebumps talking so freely like that about something so horrible. Uh oh, Dentist is angry. Not something you would want to walk in on.
Dean talks to Bobby some more, and he suggests the worst case scenario - that maybe Sam is just Sam. I think Lucifer would be better at this point. Dean trying to call Lisa then hanging up is just so sad. Dean tells Sam he'll catch up with him later, and he looks confused but leaves anyway. I was afraid he'd question it, but he didn't. Looking back at the screen caps, I see that Dean was also looking up Possession by Spirits before the Doppelganger. I don't know about you guys, but I was a little hopeful when I saw that as a possibility. We've heard the word used before on the show, but never actually seen the boys fight one or anything. Were any of you hopeful at that possibility too?
Gabriel's Horn of Truth made me hopeful again, dammit. Am I really that hopeful to see Gabriel again? Cas shows up. Love Dean's face as he tries to pour him a drink. Cas tells him that it can't be Lucifer anymore, which is relieving and kinda scary at the same time :/
Something about the lighting at the scene where Dean is sitting at the bar is just amazing. Loved the close up of his face. Jensen's gorgeous, and of course I don't forget it, but man, sometimes it's just breathtaking. Anyway, boob girl was hilarious. Was kinda surprised when Dean just walked away, but him walking right back into the shot was even better, haha. His expressionnnn~ Dean it's so nice to see flashes of the past/real you.
Ahaha! Bobby's confessing! I can't recall Bobby's exact line, but Dean's reaction was hilarious "Now I'm scarred for life." LOL Sooo, Bobby occasionally gets pedicures, interesting P: haha aww, thinking about it, it's kinda cute. LOL LOVE DEAN CUTTING HIM OFF TOO. "No no no no..." *ends call* HAHA Too much information for Dean.
Blond girl Sam was talking to looked really familiar. Of course, Lisa and Dean's phone conversation had to be left undone until Dean was cursed with the 'truth' :/ We all knew Lisa wouldn't last long in Dean's life now that Sam was back, so it was a little sad for me that I totally expected it to happen that way, even though it probably HAD to be done that way. Anyway, the only little thing I think Lisa was a little out of line with was saying that she "wouldn't bring her sister back from the dead" Don't really know why that bothers me a little, but it does. Kinda surprised Dean didn't say anything to stop her before she hung up - though, I guess what could he say right? Lisa might be out of the picture for a while, but I have a feeling she might call Dean later to apologize. Just sayin'. Of course I get she's protective, she should be. But I know she just can't shut out Dean that easily. Don't think this is the last we'll see of her.
Sam found poor Mitten's remains! D: Took me a bit to realize it was the girl's cat that had gone missing. Aaaaaand, Dean goes straight for the big question for Sam. How could he just stand there and watch the vamp turn Dean right in front of him? Him being 'in shock' was one of the weakest lies I've ever heard Sam use (although he's been putting out a lot of them recently). Then I felt like he was just going extra "puppy eyes" on Dean because he probably knew it would work. To a certain extent. I've seen people say they can't believe Dean believed Sam at that point - but I don't think it was really like that. I'm pretty sure Dean knew he was being lied to, but maybe he felt like he was just never gonna get a straight answer from his little brother, even with the 'truth curse' on him. Sam's puppy eyes probably didn't make it any easier either. Dean then 'apologizes' and as Sam turns away, his soft expression fades away and is left cold again. Awesome. Just awesome.
Dean and Sam researching together temporarily feels normal and just a bit relaxing. When they're working, at least they can keep themselves distracted from each other. Love Dean sitting on the bed in his sockies eating doughnuts - then eating pizza while Sam is still reviewing the tapes. Some things never change, right guys?
Girl's house is AWESOME. So modern. Love the stairs and the round lights hanging in the center. And all I'm thinking is, how does she keep her cats off of those AND the candles? I have cats and MAN are they destructive. Anyway, moving on. Loved the cat leading them to where they needed to go. Eww at the cats on the table with the body. Oh, and goddess lady looked hot in that dress, very beautiful.
Dean and Sam wake up with their hands tied, and Veritas helps herself to some yummy tongue (and all I'm thinking is - it's a candy tongue! it's a candy tongue! >_<) Them trying to cut themselves loose with their knives really takes me back to 1.16. Anyway, it's time for Veritas to play a little with Sam and Dean - and the whole time I'm just pleading for it to not happen because I'm afraid of what will come out of Dean's mouth. And with good reason. Wanting to kill him in his sleep - yikes. So I guess this is what Dean meant when he told Bobby he'd "handle it". (I was like "what do you mean, 'handle it?') And guys, Dean's eyes all this time - throughout this whole episode, actually, so much pain, just so sad. Dean you kill me every time. You do.
Then she goes to talk to Sam, and he just pretty much dodges the bullet again. Now it's really worrying me. There's just no way he could be able to resist her, so how is it possible? Can't believe Sam expected her to believe him in the first place. Anyway, her true face before she died was way awesome, but it scared the crap out of me, gotta admit. Okay, so she's dead..and now we're left with Sam and Dean.. alone again.
Dean's face when he pulls out the knife? Yeah, that look means business - talk about intense. Fuck, these guys are good at what they do. Sam finally cracks. Maybe he shoulda pulled a knife on him sooner , eh? I kid, I kid. So Sam admits he let Dean get turned because he knew about the cure. Pretty damn sad because we know he wouldn't have let that happen if Sam was normal. And here Sam goes again about this making him "a better hunter". Dammit. How does "soulless" make you a better hunter, Sammy? Hmm? If that was Dean with the same problem instead of you, would you think it was okay? Haven't you learned ANYTHING? Just to be clear, I STILL don't hate Sam, or Dean for that matter. Dean puts the weapon down, and he can't get any words out, but I know he's gonna punch him, so I'm just waiting for it to come. So he starts pummeling him and then it's like "Okay, Dean! Enough!" I feel like my heart should have been breaking, but it wasn't. Even though it was painful to watch Dean so hurt, I didn't cry a single tear this episode, which is actually a pretty big deal for me, since I'm a pretty easy target. Make that a VERY easy target. I'm not sure why Sam just took the hits though - maybe he thought he deserved it? I don't know. I'm just PRAYING this is over soon, cause while I think this is the strongest idea they've had with Sam going "dark", we've just had too much of it. It needs to end. This could possibly be our last season and we need to see a good portion of Sam and Dean just being the good ol' Sam and Dean that we all love seeing work together. Brotherly love now, please?
Next week looks pretty bad ass. Hopefully we'll get more answers than we did this week. I feel sorry for Sam as Castiel is doing his work. Wonder if it's like what he was doing to the kid in that other episode. Also! I gasped in surprise when I saw the "alpha vamp" from Dean's vision. VERY interesting.
All in all, I still think this season has amazing potential, and I won't stop watching until it's over. We just want Sam and Dean to act normally again. *begs*
