On the bitter rantings of an old man

Oh please, Don Shula, is it really that hard to be out of the spotlight for so long and being reduced to making Nutrasystem commercials with Dan Marino that you have to come out with the following quotes:

"That tells you the seriousness or significance of what they found," Shula said, according to the Daily News. "I guess you got the same thing as putting an asterisk by Barry Bonds' home run record.

"I guess it will be noted that the Patriots were fined and a No. 1 draft choice was taken away during that year of accomplishment. The sad thing is Tom Brady looks so good, it doesn't look like he needs any help."

Was taping the opposition's calls bad? Yep.

Did the No Fun League punish the Patriots? Yep.

Will the football public remember "SpyGate" or Don Shula's remarks? Nope. They'll remember a great football team that rebounded from a severe case of bad judgement and won it all. What would be really cool would be to have Belichick acknowledge Shula's great motivational commentary in the Super Bowl press conference.

argh, football
