That window is to die for. I would love to have something like that in my bedroom. And is that an old fireplace being used as a book/curio shelf? I like that touch!

Indeed it is! I will post a better picture of it when I have my real camera to hand. It's a massive dark wood monstrosity/thing of wonder (depending on your viewpoint). I quite like it but it totally dominates the room - if the house were mine it would be painted white.
And I'm glad you like the window - it made my head cold in winter but I do love it.

Looking to add 1 or 2 pieces of furniture without giving up too much floor space:

1. something to put the laptop on near the bed (for movie watching)
2. something with drawers or space to put desk related misc. (papers, stapler, etc.)

ideas?

I'm thinking of getting this for the same reason. They also have it in just black I think, but the antik version would be able to be painted, I think.

oh yeah, it's from the ALVE series by the way. Just in case you want to check your local ikea page. I just entered laptop in the search and it came up.

trying too to find a desk or something to house all of the desk "stuff" as having all forms and files in boxes in the closet kinda makes it tough to find something quickly lol

Thank you! And I forgot to mention that the Legos have been repurposed from my hippie neighbor's old van. So it's thrifty mailbox sauce, even!

I always wanted to customize my parents' mailbox but sadly they live in a super sized residential suburban area where the kids get bored and go out smashing mailboxes often. :
