hello everyone :) my boyfriend & i (& our two kitties) have posted here before:
http://community.livejournal.com/saucydwellings/1500947.html since then, we have moved to our new apartment, where we have been since may. it is much much (!!!) larger, with two floors for us to spread out on. when we moved in, the place was really lacking personality, so over the past six months i've tried my best to give it a little makeover. its still a work in progres, but with a mix of new furniture and our old antiques, i think we've got a nice little home here.
our sunroom :
this room was painted by the last tenants, but we liked the color so decided to keep it. what you can't see: the kitties litterboxes and our entryway. this is the first room you enter into when you come inside. the red curtains are great when the sunshine is coming through!
our living room:
when we looked at the apartment before choosing it, the living room was painted a bright orange. like, highlighter orange. it was so ugly, so our nice landlady just painted it a neutral ivory. when the light is just right, though, i swear it glows peach.
our bathroom:
our little stackable washer and dryer fit perfectly into the nook and allow us to do laundry at home and not at the sketchy laundry-mat down the street. the black and white theme seemed to work well with the tile floor, and the room was already painted the baby blue by the previous tenants. they also left behind the driftwood toilet paper holder. ;)
our dining room/kitchen:
our kitchen really isn't anything special, except for our random red cabinet left behind by the previous tenants (they sure loved weird paint!). it has old appliances and cabinets, but it serves our purpose and we can't change any of it since we rent. our little dining area is perfect for the two of us, though!
our office/music room:
this is the room where my boyfriend goes to get away from me ;) the previous tenants also painted this room, but since the ceilings are so high, i have decided to leave it for now.
our upstairs hallway:
our master bedroom:
this room is actually the smaller of the two bedrooms, but seemed the better choice for our bedroom. the wall color is ralph lauren "tulum blue".
our guest room/my sewing studio:
when we first moved in, this room was our master bedroom, but it didn't last long because our noisy neighbors are just on the other side of the long wall. instead, it is now where i can spend my free time away from my day job @ a hospital - this room is where i study (i'm currently in a diploma/certification program in interior decorating) and where i sew (i have a fun and successful etsy shop:
http://www.littlelegwarmers.etsy.com ,plus i do custom work).
thanks for looking!! xo
