Well, it's been a busy last week or so. I did end up getting a TV; a 27" (but not flatscreen; just the style that's close). It's a nice TV; open box but it has a lot of the things I wanted (S-video input; widescreen mode for video games; etc..). It's nice to actually have a TV; now the room actually amounts to a living room.
2 Saturdays prior; I hiked camelback with my friend collin. Good time; hadn't gotten outside to do something athletic in a while. Wanted to go again last wednesday but the weather was rather unhelish and cloudy for arizona. Yesterday, I put that hike to shame going to Sunrise with Sabrina and my friend Steve. THERE'S a workout! I ended up spending most of the day trying to teach Sabrina to snowboard; but did snag a few spare moments to run down the slope by myself or with my friend Steve, who's a decent skier. Did manage to get a few feet of air on the big jump. Didn't manage to avoid my tailbone on the way down... Still, lotsa fun, I wanna make it back to a ski resort at least once this year, maybe flag this time.
Started typing this post a week ago; and apparently the LJ on my work computer managed to hold onto it all this time... so I guess there's a couple things to add. Got a S-video cable for the PS2 and an optical audio cable... and wow is all I can say. The picture is crisp; people's eyes glow eerily on the screen, and sounds buzz from all directions. Audio/Videophile nirvana :-P
Other than that... work is currently hell. We're busy always... always. It's sunday and we're busy. We were swamped on MLK day. Seriously, and don't hate me for saying this out-loud... but I officially hate MLK day. Love the man... but the day was seriously just an excuse for pissed off hicks in Biloxi mississipi to call us up and whine about everything with their internet. It's like something... I can't imagine what, just put them in a bad mood, and coincidentally, they had nothing better to do than sit and home and complain to me. Of course I even got a couple of the classic "you need to send someone out here *now* or I'm gonna quit my service" calls, like they'd completely forgotten that for some reason everyone else would have the day off just like them. You know it'd be nice if everyone, including people who aren't black, were comfortable just getting together with their families to celebrate being human... but no... there's way too much to bitch about in the world.
Hmm... Colts just won against the Pats. Apparently the Colts players and coach said they think God wanted them to win. I think it's more God wanted the Pats to lose... after all, you know they made a deal with the devil to win that game against Oakland with the tuck rule
