Presents from Fujoshi Heaven

Warning: this post may cause hives in regular people.

So, like I said, I got a lot of doujinshi in Tokyo, because I'm a dork. (Also some figures and real manga.) Here is a rundown of my swag, with emphasis on the ones I've read so far. I tried to go for rare series and pairings because that made it easier to decide what to buy (seriously a problem, K-Books has an entire two-floor store dedicated to doujinshi on Otome Road.)

-Lots of Suikoden V! I've read two so far. The first is a George/Prince Roog/Rahal book called Monopoly. It was the only freaking book I could find that even vaguely involved Roog and Rahal, and it was only freaking 20 pages, and they don't even touch each other. Grr. The second is a Zegai/Shoon book, Fake Hooligan. It's about Shoon trying not to be broken by his life as a gladiator, with some stereotypical "uke gets almost raped/drugged and seme has to jerk him off" stuff thrown in. Anyway, it was kind of cute and I liked it.

-Random Star Ocean 3 Cliff/Albel doujinshi (CliAl Paradise 4) featuring little stories where, like, Cliff turns into a cat, and Albel gets mad when Cliff hits on Maria. It was okay, but Albel wasn't insane enough.

-A R-18 Eyeshield 21 Juumonji/Sena book called So Nervous. I loved the art. The story started out really good - Sena wants to thank Juumonji for joining the team, Juumonji doesn't want Sena to know that he totally has the hots for him - but then turned into dubcon, which made me sad because I basically think any E21 relationship involving Sena needs to be fluffy and awkward.

-A Persona 4 Souji/Doujima anthology. Pretty much just because the cover art is nice.

-4 Haruhi Kyon/Koizumi doujinshi, all by Apollo502 (the esteemed creators of The Little Mermaid.) HOW COULD I REFUSE? So far I've read Tsun x Dere, in which a second Kyon shows up to snuggle with Koizumi, thus proving that The Melancholy of Koizumi Itsuki was the least original fanfic I ever wrote.

-A FMA Ling/Ed. Only because I couldn't find any Armstrong/Roy. COME ON, JAPAN.

-A 12K En doujinshi that hopefully has Shoryuu/Enki in it, but it probably doesn't.

-A FFXII Vaan/Balthier doujinshi. I hate Balthier/Vaan, so I pretty much found this hilarious and had to buy it.

-Two of the most recent Antique Bakery doujinshi. For 2100 yen each. Oh, Yoshinaga Fumi, the price I pay to read about Ono fucking up his personal life is truly astounding.

-In CLAMP-land, a couple of Kurogane/Fye books, and a Doumeki/Watanuki with Watanuki in a maid outfit on the cover.

In terms of actual manga, I just got Yuri Hime 16 and Wildrose 3. 16 comes with a Tea Shop Drama CD! Whoo! I also bought a couple of CLAMP in Wonderland boxes which turned out to contain Fuu (SCORE!) and Akira from CLAMPus Detectives (I was hoping for Kurogane or Umi.) And Franky from One Piece as a 10 year old, because the adult version wasn't on sale yet. I was considering buying a Persona 3 Mitsuru, but it was $50 and I even I have my limits.

To summarize: pretty much everything I got in Japan that was not a gift for someone else, was anime shit. Although I did get a pair of earrings. And in Hong Kong I got myself a couple of purses, a watch, a wallet and a pashmina, so I consider this not to be as pathetic as it may otherwise have been.

An actual post about the hilights of Hong Kong and Tokyo (with pictures!) is forthcoming.
