Thanksgiving!
That's right, today is Thanksgiving in crazy-backwards Canada. So we stuffed ourselves with turkey and mashed potatoes and... stuffing.
Also the power went out on the entire island south of Nanaimo for about an hour. I still have no idea why. It actually wasn't that worrisome for us: we had already cooked our turkey, and we did the gravy on the barbeque, and everything else was ready too. But Naomi hadn't had a chance to bake the (made from scratch) pumpkin pies! And that was sad. But the power returned halfway through dinner and we were able to bake them, so all ended well.
And I think how happy everyone was when the light came back on made it worth it.
