Saw it tonight for the first time with Finn and cried. What an incredible, beautiful movie. Satoshi Kon is a genius director and I want to have his babies.
When I think about it, the movie does facilitate the "women have no goals but LOVE!" myth, but the idea has been such an implicit part of culture for so long that nobody conciously realizes they're implamenting it... and anyway, the last line totally made it all okay.
