Regarding The Foo Fighters' win for Best Rock Album:
Me: Well, good for them, but couldn't the drummer have not chewed his gum?
Mom: *laughs* Yeah.
Don't get me wrong. I love the Foo Fighters, really I do, but if one is going to be on TV, one should carry a tissue or three with oneself when one attends an awards ceremony. It's just distracting to watch a person chewing gum while one's bandmate delivers an acceptance speech.
