And it's hard to dance with the Devil on your back, so shake him off.

Today was a considerably better day compared to yesterday. I went out and spent several hours at Barnes & Noble, just writing and wandering around the store when I needed a break, but it was wonderful. I was a little nervous at first, unsure whether or not I was doing too much, but I'm glad I didn't second-guess myself or ask to go home too soon. Emotion-wise, I felt pretty balanced. I could focus. My thoughts weren't racing like they were yesterday. I felt calm inside. Quiet, but not in the frustrating way that usually strikes me. It was a good quiet.

Ooh, also, I somehow came home with these:

Yes. I bought the new Florence + the Machine CD, Ceremonials. So far, it's pretty good (but then, I am strongly biased towards the beautiful siren that is Florence Welch) and I'm just happy to finally have it. I also could not resist getting another Palahniuk novel, though I initially considered getting Diary since I saw Sally tweet that it was pretty good. *shrug* I'm up to chapter seven in this book and it's pretty good. Not sure if I like it more than Choke, yet, but it's early. I like how he's able to switch POVs without being too jarring or confusing.

All in all, today was a good fucking day. Here's hoping tomorrow is more of the same, since I'm going to a morning write-in at the B&N over at La Cantera. Time spent among other writers! What's not to like?
