I went to a dear friend's wedding this weekend, spending three days in the company of all our mutual friends: Jennifer's family, our high school group and their partners I've come to know, the lovely women I met at her bachelorette getaway and bridal shower. It was a sweet and beautiful wedding.

Shra and I were walking down a hallway someplace and we turned into a side room. It was made to look like the outdoors, full of half-trees and little fake creeks and things, like a cage in the zoo. We're back home from sending Al off to college at Cornell. It was a very busy five days, very emotionally fraught: sometimes tense, sometimes excited, sometimes sad. I went to San Jose to visit my family this weekend, staying from Friday till Sunday. It's a difficult time for everyone. This is where the ceremony was held, at Pulgas Water Temple in Woodside (near Palo Alto). The location is actually at an aqueduct, but there's this beautiful structure here, and the reflecting pond. A very intimate and lovely site.

This morning I dreamed I was teaching a yoga class. It wasn't me-with-lots-of-yoga-training, it was just me, right now, as I am. It was yoga for everyday aches and pains, the sort of thing I get in my wrists and in my neck/shoulders from decoupaging and computer use. My front-body feels incredibly sore today. I guess we've been doing a lot of heart openers in yoga (appropriate for Valentine's Day!), which tends to mean lots of backbends -- and I am really naturally bad at backbends.
