alcatraz

so today, i toured alcatraz with my family. this was surprisingly enjoyable. it didn't involve long talks about medicine i don't understand (i'm the computer programmer in a family of medics. go figure, right?). that place is amazing. the audio tour was really well done and talked about pretty much everything about the prison ward. i didn't realize the place was first a military base then military prison before becoming a federal prison. there were quite a bit of buildings open, including the bird sanctuary and the view was good. maybe a few photos later. i got around 130 today.

we also walked to ghiradelli square again then they wanted to walk to the top of the crookedest road. i don't think they realized how steep hyde street is to get up that street. they were happy to see that the crookedest road really is that crooked. i'd never walked down that road before. pretty steep.

so much walking. feet hurt.

family, travel
