I watched 11'09''01 - September 11 on tv tonight. Ok, every channel had some 9/11 thing going on, but that seemed like the best one imo. And it was really a great movie. I loved that the segments were so different and the fact that 9/11 was sometimes just in the background and not that present in the story, but you still got a message out of it. I ( Read more... )

My high school took us to see that movie when it came out. I loved it, I thought it was very, very good.

yes, it's a very great collection of short movies. There were very few that I didn't like.

Wow, I don't know how the U.S. is portrayed in Canada, but at least where I am, 9/11 is definitely a day of rememberance. I think from that rememberance, patriotism comes out. Not only remembering those, but celebrating the fact that some people did survive (and if people are saying how great we are really should look into that "war" thing and how it's 5 years later and it's still going on). Then again, I haven't watched any of the TV specials/movies (I kinda refuse to. It seems wrong to profit off of it, even if it is for awareness and I'm not one to wallow in bad moments which is partly why I don't like watching the news). Maybe it's just the school that's pushing rememberance.

I'd like to see what Americans do with 9/11 once the Iraq issue is over with.

I feel like it's more about remembrance and being united as well. It's not as if anyone's having a 9-11 barbeque or shooting off fireworks:-/

When I said that, I was mostly talking about people being told that they had to wear red, white and blue and put up their US flags and stuff like that. I mean, black seems more appropriate than red, white and blue.

I'm not to sure about it's protrayed in Canada actually cause I haven't really been watching the news, my comment just reflected things other people said on the net.

I watched it partly too. I missed the beginning.
I love the Burkina Faso segment and the Sean Penn one. Though it took me like 2 min to understand why the flowers were suddenly blooming.
Japan was weird. I'm not too sure if I'm understanding it.

Gosh, living in NY, I can definitely tell that people haven't forgotten about the people who died...
