Texture Battle - Details/Discussion/Share
Hello!
So came the time for the discussion and detail post for our multi-maker texture battle! I am so glad that 18 of you have signed-up for this event, so with me, we have 19 makers involved, this is going to be big and memorable, and hopefully fun for all of us. I am going to share with you the details and the run-down of this battle below. I am also posting different threads where the different sections of discussions go, so we keep track of this easier.
The sections are the following, please wait for me to post all the threads, before commenting:
- Questions/Concerns/Thoughts etc.
- Material Sharing Thread - Please provide 10 images that you feel most comfortable and inspired with. It can be your material, for example painted goods, or something random from the web. Anything goes as long as you see potential in it.
- Texture Tips and Techniques - Share your favourite texture-making secrets!
- Seeking Advice - Here you can ask for tips, advice on your textures, pick your fellow makers' brains.
- I love the Tease - Here you can share previews, teasers of your on-going sets.
- Finished Thread - When you are done with your texture set/sets, please provide a zip for me with all the containing textures, so I can download it and later pull together an awesome result post.
- Spam Fest - Does this need explainin? I don't think so. :p
Details:
Duration: 27th November -> 22nd December
Reveal: 24th-25th December -> Part 1 and Part 2 if needed. I think the results shall be wonderful Christmas presents for the icon-making community. :)

Please when uploading your images, use imgur.com, or any image hosting sites you are comfortable with. Also, please only link to the urls.
I don't really have a preferation for the host you upload your .zip files to though, suit yourself. :)
Number of textures we are going to make:
20 icon textures!
You have to use one image from each of the makers! Of course, feel free to make more, I know I will. ;) Also, feel free to make larger textures as well.
It would also be lovely if you'd let us know, whose material you used for each texture, so at the end I can put up a more in-detail result post.
Rules:
I don't really have much rules for you to go by, just have fun, and be nice to each other, help out when needed and just let your creativity flow.
Also, please don't be discouraged to try new things, experiment, and do your own thing! Even if you haven't made textures before, I know you will do fine, and we all start somewhere. :)
The sign-ups are closed by now, but if you changed your mind about joining us and know that you can stick to the deadlines, feel free to join the texture-making experience!
