since I last posted. actually, I think I haven't posted since I got back to school. I guess it's because it's been pretty busy.
Last night was our Winter Formal. It was a lot of fun, I got to wear a new dress, and my feet got stepped on almost continuously. Afterwards, I went back with some friends and hung out, and then went to bed because I was beyond exhausted. A strange thing that's been happening lately is that Brittney and I always sleep with our door unlocked, not because we care but because I always assume that if it's closed and we're inside that it's locked, which apparently is not the case. So up until now it's just been her friend who comes in when we're sleeping to wake Brittney up for the gym, but last night a guy we know came in when he was drunk, which is very strange. So i think we might start locking our door. he also wrote the numbers from Donnie Darko on our door (on the actual door, not the whiteboard), and came by tonight and cleaned them off. the girl who lives across from us asked who had written 'fuck' on her whiteboard, but she's really mean so i told her i didn't know. The guys next to me also write mean stuff on our white boards when they're drunk, it's not a very good habit.
but enough about hall grafiti. I've mainly been readjusting to college this week, although I got sick and ended up sleeping through not one but four different classes to different degrees. Two of the times it was through the same class, Shakespeare, which I was going to drop anyway, but now I definitely am. I don't know how I feel about my schedule this semester - it seems like if I'm going to major in IR it's a great schedule but if I'm not it's a huuuuge waste of time, and it seems to early to be definitely scheduling based on my major. Although I guess this all goes back to the What Am I Doing With My Life question, which is nowhere near being over, so it's not worth freaking out about. My Chinese class is so far my funnest class, mainly because everyone (with one exeption, this guy i really don't like and find incredibly annoying) is really cool and my teacher is really good. But who knows. I had another moment today where I wondered if I was wasting my time learning Chinese, but then I realized that with a couple exceptions you learn a foreign language solely to go to that country, and other than that they're all equally useless. Plus, I'm covering my bases with French, so it's all cool.
I also started with Major:Undecided, the sketch comedy group, again. We had a sketch-writing party/actual party on Friday, and it was just what I needed. I met a bunch of new people and hung out with some old friends, and it was perfect. I wish we had more that one/two parties a semester, I always have the best time. Other than that, it's been pretty much same old same old back at school. The weather was beautiful for a couple days and now it's gross and I'm ordering in dinner because I am not going out again.
Okay, I guess if I'm talking about the weather it's time to end the entry. I have a lot of stuff to talk about, but it'll have to wait. At least until I finish reading an entire book on the Cold War for public opinion, ugh ;)
