The stank of George Lucas

Is there nothing he can't totally fuck up? I finally got around to seeing Indiana Jones last night and man what an over the top piece of shit. I mean, the Indy movies should be light hearted and fun but this was just way too unrealistic for even an Indy movie. I actually liked the plot and if they had worked on the character interactions along with ( Read more... )

My biggest issue with it is indeed the CG. I think it takes away from the simplicity of the past movies and ruins the overall feel. Yes, you definatly could pin point which ideas were likely Lucas's. As for certain unrealistic events... that bothered me less after going back and watching the first three a few days back. There's lots of equally silly, unrealistic things (The plane going down and them falling to safety in the inflatable raft is just as silly as going over the waterfalls in the jeep me thinks) so it made me slightly more forgiving of that. I think if it had just been more simple, it would have been great. I work with a guy who has a copy of it and is re-editing it into something watchable. We concluded there's at least 30 minutes that can be lost. LOL! Fucking gophers....

I feel you. I had almost no issue with the "out there" nature of the main storyline (and it fit the decade it was set in), but the dialog, characterization and overall writing of the movie was patently UN-INDY. What should have been an awesome addition to the story, the return of Marion, was simply depressing and pathetic. She had no purpose. It's totally cool to LET she and Indy actually age and be older, different people...but it was like I was watching characters I haven't loved for most of my life ( ... )

I loved the plot, I actually enjoyed the movie until Karen Allen and John Hurt showed up, then the really bad dialogue kicked in and I began to groan. The original films are out there but I never groaned when watching any of those films. One of the best scenes involves a real and fake snake go figure.

As I stated in my own post, the script hurt my face.
Painful.
