(no subject)
Okay sorry I haven't updated in awhile. I don't know what it is about summer...but I feel like I'm wasting time on a computer....though with type of thinking you would think I would be laying out in the sun, and be very tan...sadly this isn't true, but I am getting darker!
Matt and his friend Santosh (his from India but grew up in Africa) came and visited Center. We all had a blast but most of all Santosh...we did all sorts of country things...shot guns, messed with the horses, swam in the pool, grilled huge steaks, then went to the county Rodeo...I must say it was quite a culture shock to him, but he loved it. We even went up to Shreveport one night and ate at Ralph and Kakoos had blacken aligator, crawfish etufee all abunch of cajun cookin that I love. Then we went to the boats, though I admit we did not have much luck, especially my cousin Justin who lost about $100 on the blackjack table (the dealer was amazing....out of 8 hands she had 5 blackjacks and the 2 other times she either tied us or barely beat us...I don't know how she did it) Santosh was happy because when we left he was up $3 (slots machine) and he had lots to drink for 'free'...or they like you to think its free when in reality it could be one of your most expensive drinks of your life.
Sadly, though the weekend wasn't all fun and games...Matt and I got into a fight. Relationships are tricky. And I guess the saying is right that you don't really know what you have until it is gone or almost gone. But I knew in that instant that I could invision my life without him. I always believe in the end there is always a silver lining...and to this fight I learned we were both alittle uncertain about me going off to Europe for 6 weeks, but now I believe we both know were each other stands.
The 4th was not that spactular for me...its the first time I haven't gone to the lake house ...and it is my fault because I have put off to the last minute all my reading for my class...so now I'm playing catch up...I find it really hard to buckle down though...my mind thinks I've already graduated and it is supper hard for me to stay focus and not get distracted. I'm so ready for school to be over with.
BIG news of the week...So I'm headed down to Houston on Wedsday because I have to be at the airport at 11 am on Thursday. Matt is also coming down on Wedsday so we can spend some more time together, and my mother is driving me. So Matt's parents have invited both my mother and I to stay with them. For you that don't know, Matt and I have been dating for over 2 1/2 years, both of us know each other parents very well...but we have avoided the parents meeting. At first I wanted them to meet but Matt's been hisitant and nervous, and I laughed at him...I mean we are getting pretty serious. But know that it is about to happen, I am also nervous, I hope they like each other...I mean really LIKE each other and aren't just polite to each other. I think they will they have so much in common...both mothers are nurses, take charge, smart, southern, love to garden. The fathers will get along as long as they don't talk politics (mine is very Repulican and Matts is Democratic). I will fill you in on how that goes later on.
So stay tuned...once in Europe I'm planning to update my journal at least twice a week. also you can find out how the parent thing played out. Until then everyone have a great summer and 4th!
Also if you MUST watch Dancing with the Stars...I love this show and I've watched every one. The final comes on Weds at 8pm. One day when my knee heals I would love to be able to dance like that...though I admit I think I would be better at the latin dance section...I can shake my butt like no other.
