The great IKEA adventure....
So on this past Saturday I had an epic adventure with Matt...
It started out innocent enough, we slept in, and while watching TV I was talking about the IKEA catelog that had come in. Well with that decided Matt decided he wanted to go to the new on in Dallas to spend some of his birthday money on something. So I jump in the shower, decided to take my car, he printed directions from map quest, and then at the last min, I told him to look up the time it closed since it was getting late and I didn't want to get there 30 mins before they would kick us out.
So with everything, we load up and an on our way...I'm driving and he is reading the directions (because when I read directions we always start yelling at each other about something)...so it starts in Arlington...mapquest then tells us to go up the DFW Airport tollway (first of all I should have seen that as a sign...I mean what directions tell you to go through the airport) so we turn around because I don't have spare change to pay the toll (since my car was broken into the week before and they stole all my change), so then we take a round about way (13 mins out of the way) to find the street we were supposed to be on....Follow the directions so we are on 121 (I think...not positive though) and it tells us to turn on main street...so we do...we end up circling Fresco and taking the longest way about...all and all another 30 min detore...that includes the time Matt had to run into the gas station to ask for directions....Well as it had it, map quest was way wrong...all we had to do was go 2 more exits down and we would have been there but it told us to turn early...now I'm all excited...I mean this is the mother land of cheap good looking furniture...and there is a big sign...OPEN ON AUG 3!!!!! What we have been driving for over an hour and it isn't even open!!! I glared at Matt, and asked him about the times...oh well...But I did get something out of the trip...there is a huge mall 1 exit away and I shopped for a new fragrance (Chanel--Chance). Also the best part of the day is now I have leverage over Matt and he can no longer bitch to me about directions or getting lost!!!!
Oh on another note this IKEA is no where close to Dallas...it is atleast a 35 min drive away...Truelly false advertisment.
Santosh....Matt's friend came back from India and he brought me a present back...a blue pashmina scarff...it is the softest thing I've felt...for you that don't know it comes from a the under neck of a goat...and that is the softest part because the the sun never hits it...also it is very expensive (It was on Oprah favorite things)..but since he is from India he got it at Indian Price...which is way less than what Americans would be able to buy it for. But it was so nice of him to think of getting me something.
On other news...my parents just got satelite internet...so it is no longer slow...also we are getting a router so I can use my wireless card...I'm SO exicited that I will be connected with the outside world again.
I'm leaving for Flordia on Saturday...and I've already packed up my clothes...I'm so ready for the beach...but that also means I only have a couple of days left to workout and tan. Wish me luck...
