Yet another TV geekout!

Heroes
OK, last night was super duper double awesome. Every time I store up a good stockpile of certainty that HRG is a very bad man, those bastards go and make him do something that ruins it all. I thinks perhaps he is a very bad man, just with certain weaknesses (like say, his family). Last night reminded me of the X Files episode "Confessions of a Cigarette Smoking Man," in which we were given hints at CSM's past and what made him the heartless bastard we all loved to hate. Let's see... no proper name? Check. Black and white flashbacks? Check. Lending a sympathetic angle to a nefarious character? Check.

Good stuff, Heroes. Although I do ask that you not kill my buzz by bringing that useless hussy Simone back from the dead. Pretty please? With sugar on top?

New/unanswered questions and or "OMGWTF?!" moments from last night:
• How long was Claude with The Company, and what Hero was he "hiding?"
• What is Hiro's father's connection to The Company? (And could tiny Hiro have been any cuter?)
• The handoff of Claire to HRG took place atop the Deveaux Building. This means two things: 1) we now know why Claude chose that rooftop on which to hang out, and 2) Charles Deveaux may be more important than we realized (though that's still no excuse to keep Simone alive).
• How long has HRG known that the Haitian wasn't mute, as told to him by his boss? Does his boss know?
• Is Matt HRG's new partner? If not, how does he get out of this one?
• What's Hana going to do when she finds out her boys flubbed the mission?
• Who's the new Company chick who's going to "clean up the mess?"
• Where is the Haitian going to take Claire?
• Is Claude invisible for good now, or will he pop up again?
• How will Lyle and Mrs. Bennet react to what they now know?
• What's the deal with Eric Roberts/the boss anyway? And why does he have that retarded haircut?
• And... what exactly does The Company do?

The Black Donnellys
My attention was divided while this was on, so I'm going to have to catch the Thursday encore to pick up the finer points. So far it seems like it's got potential. I only have three complaints:

• Yay for historical innacuracy. The last of the NY Irish mob bosses was taken out in the 1970s. There's only one acknowledged Irish "boss" still operating, and he was based out of Boston and is currently in hiding from the FBI somewhere in the Carribbean.
• None of those boys looks a day over 24... in fact the narrator was "in juvi in '99," which means he can't be more than 26. It's not implausible that they could be doing the things they're doing at their ages, but it's less believeable.
• The annoying narrator has got to go. Worked for The Usual Suspects, but this is not a two-hour movie and that guy is not Kevin Spacey.

But for a first episode, it wasn't at all bad. We'll see where it goes.

I didn't catch any of what I was told was non-stop coverage of James Cameron's "Jesus Tomb" documentary/press conference. But I found a few interesting stories:
A long but pretty comprehensive piece from The Jerusalem Post
An opinion piece which claims the whole thing is bollocks (the comments are noteworthy as well)

No word from Rocco at Whsipers in the Loggia yet, but I'm betting if Church officials start making noise, he'll be on top of it.
