Not Impressed

Well I ordered a book based on the fact that it was being used in a local Universities book publishing program. Thinking that it would provide me with good information.

So far I am very unimpressed.

Why?

Well so far its mostly reminescing about how things were in the past in publishing. I admit the book was published in 2002, so it is "old" when it comes to information on online publishing. The authors speculation on what will happen in the future to me shows that he loves the traditional book. While I don't think that the regular paperback or hardback book is going to have its production stopped right away, I don't agree with his thoughts that people will print out copies of books at home to read, or at a local corner book shop. Yes I hear all the time how people don't want to lose the traditional feel of the paperback/hardback book. But as someone who uses a ebook reader I think its something most people will get over very quickly. The convenience of being able to carry multiple books on a small device with you everywhere makes much more sense than printing out a copy of a book as needed.

Well I am hoping that the rest of the book will be better.
