Don't worry, all spoilers will be placed under cuts! <3 I hate people that ruin books like this. D= IT MAKES ME A SAD DUCKIE. DX
Well, I WAS going to go to the Hallow's Ball. Here's what happened:
On Friday, my boyfriend asked me to come to NY to see him. I said okay, and I went up on the train. Now, this was my first time alone on a train for this um, far of a journey I guess. And I lack a cellphone, too. Well, I made a small mistake at first. I accidentally got off-peak tickets instead of peak ones, so I had to pay a bit of an extra fee. I was cranky since I had not had breakfast, but I gave the conductor some more money.
Well, I got to NY Penn Station. And guess who wasn't at my track?
Basically, I spent five hours huddled and frightened in various corners of the station, since the thing is so fucking big and confusing. I used the last of my change to call him, and it turns out that he had looked for me for about three hours, and had gone home. He came rushing to get me when I called, and just as I was about to cry, he appears before me, sweating and with eyes bulging in both terror and happiness, and he hugged me tightly. Granted, he smelled terrible from the sweltering heat, but I didn't really care. I was so scared, and I was happy that he had found me.
By this time, it was about one in the afternoon, and there wouldn't be enough time to go to his home and then come back to the station to drop me off to get home.
However. I went to his house, and called my parents, and my mother asked me if I would like to sleep over at his house. Now, at the time, I honestly wasn't in a rush to go on a train in the near future. But, I realized, I would be missing the Hallow's Ball. I looked at my boyfriend, then back at the phone, and sighed.
I agreed to sleep over.
He was really happy that I had chosen him over Harry Potter. Yes, that's how addicted I am. Honestly, I think I had more fun at my boyfriend's then at the midnight party.
The next morning, we slept in and missed two trains. Oops. Luckily, his mother had called my parents, and everything was okay.
I waited and got my book at about 12:30pm. I read about 12 pages, though, and my ex-fiance a.k.a. best friend, calls.
"Want to hang out!?"
Despite wanting to just relax and read, I said okay.
So, I didn't get to start Harry until 3pm yesterday.
I finished at 10pm. It was a new record! And, this is how much of a dork I am. I cheered because it was seven hours, and it was the seventh book! (NERDDDDDDDDD).
Okay, NOW I shall rant about the book!
First of all. The deaths.
I've made a list of some of the deaths, at least.
- Hedwig : Avada Kedavra, and then the body was blown up by Harry.
- Mad-Eye : Avada Kedavra by a Death Eater, or a fall from the broom.
- Wormtail : Murdered by the silver hand. Hmm, would this be suicide or homicide?
- Fred : Random Death Eater. NOOOOOOO. I LOVERZ HIM.
- Lupin: I cried the hardest over his death. He was my favorite character in the entire series. And JK never even revealed who murdered him, and how!
- Tonks : Same way of death as Lupin. Honestly, I didn't really like her, and I didn't want her to marry Lupin, but what will be will be, I guess.
- Snape : Nagini/Voldemort. As my second favorite character, he also earned many tears. At least now I can publish my Snape/Lily fanfiction without shame
- Colin : Poor Colin. D:
Well, my mom and I grieved for Hedwig together, as she and I are owl lovers. I wanted to make a little cake in the shape of Hedwig, but I'm not skilled enough. D= And we didn't have the ingredients...
Lupin and Snape were the hardest for me, though. I loved those two so much, so knowing that they're dead really hurts me.
But, um, there are some things I'm still a tad confused about.
JK said that someone would use magic late in life. It says so on Mugglenet. D:
'JKR has said "There is a character who does manage, in desperate circumstances, to do magic quite late in life, but that is very rare..."'
Anyone else confused about that, or am I just stupid?
How will they sort people into houses if the Sorting Hat was lit on fire? Was it not completely burned away, or do they have an extra?
The ending was SUCH a cop out, but I'm not sure if I mind in this case. Although honestly, I despise Harry/Ginny. Almost as much as Ron/Hermione.
And well, won't the Snape/Harry fans be multiplying? Oi.
Although I'm glad that my Snape/Lily fanfictions won't go to waste. I had thought since book five that he loved her, but I'm glad that this proved my point. =D
Um, there was something else, but I forget. Oh well!
Soooooooo yeah! I'm now suffering from post-Potter depression. D=
