it's sad that this is your mother and that this is a result of an accident.
the way i found to cope with it was to not be at home as much as possible.
and when i had to be in close proximity, placate.
i'll add you on my prayer list if you would like peace of mind.

I was coping by not being at home, but now she's gone on holiday for a few weeks and given me respite. After that she'll be up in Maine for the summer. After that I'm out of there, so hopefully, calm will prevail for the next month and half.

it was neither romantic nor familial.
just friends/roommates with an insecure hyper competitive alpha male who needed to establish dominance at all costs.
i'm not one to stroke anyone's ego. moreover, stroking mine only arouses suspicion most of the time.
needless to say, it ended very very badly.
