.....i was weeping while reading Socrates' trial (last) speech in Plato's Apology .... i was amazed with Zhukov's genius planning the siege of Stalingrad....i was shocked how Hafizullah Amin was "punished" by special KGB commandos in Kabul.....i admired the courage of Adenauer with his genuine Zeitgeist intuition.....terrifying was Suvorov/Tsvigun's narrative of GRU officers' training .....i liked Kennedy's Ich bich ein Berliner during the Second Berlin Crisis.....Locke amazed me with his strictly (even scary) rational liberalism.....Berdyaev's The Meaning of History has provided me with a personal raison d'etre....what else, what else?
