1. Winter 1965: "Got it!"

2: Spring 1965: "Ulp. Still learning."

3: Summer 1980: "Whew, I really got it now--I'm that close, obviously I'm supposed to be writing screenplays."

4: End of Summer 1980: "Ahem. Still learning."

5: Midyear 1986: "Okay, I finally sold something. I got it!"

6. Two weeks later, after editorial call: "Still. Learning. Yes."

9.* 2002: "Short stories? No...Still Learning."

10. Present: "Will always be still learning."
