(no subject)
I'm worried about my dog, Roxanne :(
She's ten years old, and alternates between not wanting to get up from her "spot" some days to wanting to be active and run around outside all day others. She does have a joint, paw, and ear infection problem we typically have to look out for, but she's been okay recently and hasn't been whining or crying.
Since she was little, she's always needed routine and has been incredibly consistent in her behavior, so it's easy to spot when something is unusual or wrong with her. The fact that she's old also makes me extra paranoid aaaa.
Anyway, this morning she was making the most pitiful cries! Nothing seemed wrong with her physically, and she wanted to go outside, so I let her. On the porch she found one of her old "babies" that she hasn't touched since she was spayed years ago and immediately picked it up, carrying it around like she used to while crying. She seemed very distraught and kept circling the yard with it, wanting to come inside and circle the house, go back out, etc. Then she finally picked a spot in the yard, scratched at it a little, and dumped her baby there. Since she's done that, she's left it alone...I think.
After she did that, she seemed a lot happier and came inside to watch outside from the front door. And now she's outside running around without her baby, barking at stuff going on, etc. Normal active-day behavior from her, which makes me feel better. But still, it worries me because she's so habitual and hasn't done this kind of thing since before she was spayed.
And then there's Ben going psycho on everything... >:(
