I can't believe I actually forgot about Clint/Coulson fandom. I even read it pretty often, and yet this was the first time it even crossed my mind after seeing the film more than a week ago. I'm pretty sure I've glanced past some Clint/Coulson fics even today searching for something long and well recommended from MCU that I haven't read yet. Sometimes I wonder about my ability to not connect dots. Although I'm sure this won't stop the fandom, perhaps just slow it down a bit :)
The great thing about comics fandoms is all the reboots. Plus nothing wrong with a good AU! But yeah it's killed it dead for trying to keep it with the canon verse - unless they go the open relationship route, but its not something I'd read - especially not the way they've set up Clint's life outside work as so 'normal' and domestic.
Oh, I'm sure they can add another level of secrecy, where the wife is actually Phil's asexual sister or best friend or something, and they just play happy couples to hide the real relationship from SHIELD :) Technically doesn't break canon, just makes them bigger liars, and I don't think there's actually a limit on how far fadom is willing to go to that particular direction...
