Resolution to be prepared in future.
There was an accident on Great Eastern Hwy today. Coming back from Zebra's I came to a dead stop behind a very long line of cars curving around a corner from which a plume of black smoke was coming up from behind the treeline. A few people had got out of their cars to check out what was blocking the way, and then come back again, so I assumed that whatever it was was under control and given I'd forgotten most of my first aid training anyway, decided to stay out of the way. In the next 10 minutes the fireys, ambos and cops showed up.
Zebra and I had just been talking the night before about doing first aid refresher courses, and the importance of carrying a first aid kit in the car (she does, I currently don't).
Today has just reinforced that for me - if I'd been prepared, maybe I could have been of help instead of just watching tv on my laptop for the next 3/4 hour until the word came that the road would be closed for the rest of the day and we all were directed to a detour through the Locality of Wooraloo.
