Last night's storm was epic. The wind started right after dinner and howled until daylight. It went from a blizzard of tiny snow particles to pinpricks of sleet. I went to bed early and enjoyed the soft, cozy embrace of the fuzzy blanket that Mom got us. Mike staggered to bed closer to 4AM, when I relinquished my warm spot for him and let him heat up his knees on me.
Getting out of a warm bed with a warm Mike late this morning was very difficult.
It's above freezing, but the torrential downpour I was hoping would wash the snow away isn't making an appearance. We've still got about 4 inches out there, likely with Sunday's ice still under it.
Still here in an I'm guessing 55ish degree beastie with no propane and the little space heater whirring away. My toes HURT. Even the mightiest of wool socks don't make up for wearing them with unlined rubber boots. I'll try doubling up next time I go out.
Mike is in NO hurry to take the house out, as the road that was clear and dry at 5:00 last night is now striped with slush. Doh. Thinking we shoulda risked the driveway.
Coffee, thank goodness, flows, thanks to our landlord's stove top.
