Wednesday thoughts

* I think my favorite track on Malcolm Gets' new solo album is his cover of "Wait" from Sweeney Todd. That's not my favorite musical, though I do think that "Not While I'm Around" is one of the most beautiful songs ever written for the stage. However, I love this cover. When I first heard it, I was on the Metro, reading, and I did a double (ear?) take. It's such a stripped down version, I couldn't quite believe what I was hearing.

* In other theater news, looks like I'm going to New York again at the end of June! newtonsophie and I are meeting there to see Next to Normal. We might possibly meet up with my sister at some point over the weekend, who will coincidentally be there helping a friend move. The show is supposed to be amazing, and I'm excited to be in the city when it will actually be warm. I'll just have to get over my fear of Alice Ripley following her Tony acceptance speech in the next three weeks. Why are you yelling at me, Alice? What did I do??

* In non-theater news, the weekend can happen any time now. I've got a potentially great weekend planned, with pool time + movie going with sillyzilly2k  on Saturday, plus a shopping trip in Frederick with my mom on Sunday.

*Speaking of my sister, if we do manage to meet up in NY, we will see each other three weekends in a row. She's coming home the 20th for my mom's bday/Father's Day, the next weekend is New York, and the weekend after that, I'll be in Boston for the 4th of July. Fun, fun, fun!

* So, this big Rolling Stone Adam Lambert thing? I'm all about that. When does Rolling Stone come out? I want it for the cover alone.

* I am very, very behind on my Daily Show and Colbert Report watching. Ever since regular season TV ended, I haven't been able to really sit down at night and watch TV. I keep on having to go to my work out place, or have plans after work, or watch Buffy with Roommate. I don't mind any of these things, but I hear tell of Colbert in Iraq and Jon Stewart feuding with Fox again, and I WANT TO WATCH.

*Speaking of Roommate, she has maybe found an apartment in Boston. Which means I need to start thinking about getting a new roommate. Boo. I know no one who needs a place to live. Anyone moving to the DC area in August? Anyone?
