Pretty much copied verbatim from an email I just wrote but oh well, deal.
Okay, so.
I haven't talked to my dad since Sunday, when he called to make sure I got into my apartment alright after he dropped me off. I knew he had plans to go to my cousin's house on Monday morning, which he did just fine. He attempted to go to my grandmother's house to help her after that, but she was busy (thank God) so he made plans to see her this morning between 8:30 and 9.
He called my grandmother (his mother) last night and left a message on her cell phone, telling her he would see her this morning. She claims that he "sounded weird" but he didn't say anything about not feeling well in his message.
This morning, near as we can tell, he went about his normal routine. Coffee was made and mostly drank (drunk? I never know), there were no accidents from the dog in the house, and he was inside, so he had been let in and out.
Near as I can tell, he was fine until about 6 - 7.
He never showed at my grandmother's at 8:30 - 9.
My dad is nothing if not punctual. He doesn't "not show up." If the roads were bad, he would've left early. If he wouldn't make it, he would've called.
So the family started calling, trying to get ahold of him. I sent him a BBM, and as you BlackBerryers know, it shows if someone hasn't read it. My dad never ignores my calls or texts. He'll ignore my aunt, he'll ignore my grandmother, but he never ignores me.
So I started freaking out. I had the deputy drive by, but he wouldn't go in without a warrant. Jackass.
So my cousin picked me up and we went up there. We found him in his bedroom doorway, on his stomach. He had a stroke. Actually, several mini-strokes, and two large strokes. He can barely move his left leg, can't move his right arm at all, and the left side of his face is drooping a bit. He's a little confused, but mostly coherent. Ornery as hell, which is typical for him, especially when he's sick.
We'll know tomorrow and I'll let you know.
