Now I get to retype all this, because LJ ate it.
As previously
stated.
1) While not quite where I'd like to be, I'm doing much better than I was this time last year. I find it much easier to say no to frivolous things, though I do sometimes indulge.
2) Moving on...
3 - 6) Win, so much awesometacular win! I am awesome. I have a third of the stuff I had

You definitely did awesome at 2-6. Rather amazing, really. And some of it rubbed off on me at least, so yay! *cookie* In fact, that deserves *lots of cookies!* Now, if you could just come over and finish my cleaning and organizing, that'd be great. Kthx.
The book thing...yeaaah. I think that was one of my goals. Or I wanted to do it anyway. Maybe this year...maybe. Does it count if I just read MAOW 50 times?? >>
And finally, because I'm talking a lot - the best part of this post? The moodicon. Ahhh.

I totally think re-reading MAOW 50 times should count. Can I start now??

I always say "meow" out loud when I type that. I can't help it. And then the cat gives me a weird look.
He just doesn't understand.

You did much better than me : ) My one goal was to balance my checkbook...and yeah no. I'm still very much dependent on online banking. FAIL.

I think this technological shift in our society, especially as pronounced as it's gotten the last year or so, is not necessarily a good thing.
And that's part of it, too - so many of the books seem the same. I'm constantly asking for recs. I come across a book I LOVE, and I will read everything by the author until I've exhausted my resources (which is often much too quickly) and then I'm floundering for more again.
Re: the checkbook - don't feel bad. I don't remember the last time I wrote in a register. I know I shouldn't rely on online banking, but I can't bring myself to do it.

Speaking of recs, do you have any? I'm in the same situation where I've devoured all the books from authors I love. I bought the new Nick Hornby book but I've been saving it simply because I have nothing else to read afterward .

Other than that...haven't really read anything. A friend recommended The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson, which I've started but not finished. It starts out a bit weird but I'm promised it gets less weird, lol. Has really good imagery, it just is a bit heavy at times. She also recommended An Equal Music by Vikram Seth but I don't know anything about that one ( ... )
