Hierarchy
By Sarga
He is a prince.
But I am Lord.
He shows disrespect, always standing tall in the face of my superior skill and strength. I would have him kneel before me.
I would have him beg.
I seek him out, waiting for the perfect time to show my superiority. I would not needlessly embarrass him in front of his pack - he will return to being their leader when I am finished, and I would not have him loose face for the sake of my own pride. What would the prince be without his kingdom?
So I wait.
The perfect opportunity arises when his pack-mates return to the den while the wolf-prince stays his course.
He knew I was watching, I know this now.
He faces me before I expect it, just standing there with a smirk until I emerge.
“You know why I am here, then,” I speak this as a statement, not a question. He is too cocky for anything else.
“I know. Do you?”
Folding his arms, the wolf prince tilts his head upward, an arrogant sign of his assumed superiority.
I must correct his error.
Faster than any human could hope to perceive, I lash my whip toward the over-confident wolf. I only meant to wrap his neck in it, to drag him to my feet where he belongs, yet he moves quickly and I am hard-pressed not to show my annoyance.
He lands hard on my back, his powerful legs forcing my face to the ground and ass to the air.
I have been defeated by a mere prince.
My prince.
Face to the dirt, I slide my hakama to my knees. With my rear exposed and ready for mounting, I finally realize the truth:
Even the mightiest lord can have a master.
