On Saturday, December 14th, children in South Minneapolis were treated to a visit from none other than Saint Nicolas. St. Nick dropped by Sabathani Community Center at 310 East 38th Street to chat with some of his smallest devotees. Accompanied by Dasher and Prancer, two of his tiny reindeer, Father Christmas shared his sleigh with neighborhood children.
Pictured above are Dasher and Prancer accompanied by two of Santa’s helpers from Johmar Farms. Until a few weeks ago, both reindeer had a full rack of antlers, but one of them was so looking forward to the coming year that he lost his rack a little early.
Neighborhood children were delighted to spend an evening talking with Santa and having his undivided attention for the entire span of a sleigh ride. Many, many heartfelt wants and needs were shared with Santa and he assures us that his elves are working overtime to see that all those wishes and dreams come true on Christmas morning.
Inside Sabathani, more of Santa’s Helpers from Fezzan Temple, Prince Hall Lodge, Daughters of Isis and Johnny Baker Post helped the children make Christmas crafts and play games.
Fezzan Temple provided food for all and children could select their own toy and enjoy a Christmas movie in the auditorium.
