I've decided on theme days. Sundays will be for communities, Mondays for television shows, Tuesdays for music, Wednesdays for books, Thursdays for fanfiction, Fridays for movies, and Saturdays for whatever else pops into my head that doesn't fit into one of the other categories.
In that vein, today I'm recommending The Tuesday Club Murders by Agatha Christie, which is a Miss Marple mystery made up of thirteen short stories. The premise for the first half is that a group of six meets every Tuesday and one member tells a mystery that they know the solution to, and the rest of the group must try to figure out the answer. It's replicated in the second half at another dinner party. Naturally, Miss Marple solves them using her unique brand of wisdom, much to the surprise of her dinner companions.
I have a fondness for the mystery genre, especially short stories where one can attempt to work out the solution before the characters do, and Little Old Lady Investigates is a fun trope. (I always loved Murder She Wrote when I was younger.) Since Miss Marple is probably the originator of said trope, I enjoyed these stories thoroughly.
I have an audio recording of the first chapter, which you can download
here. If you enjoy it, definitely check out the book.
