Okay, I am about to go postal on the tradmed and politics today. Actually, for a while now, because they are so full of bullshit.

For starters....
Bush OPPOSED the Webb GI Bill. Despite his glowing bald-faced lie review of it today after he signed it.
McCain OPPOSED the Webb GI Bill despite his glowing, bald-faced lie on Friday. In fact, he, Lindsay Graham and Richard Burr wrote a counter bill to Webb's bill. In fact, he didn't even show up to vote NAY, despite saying he unequivocally opposed it, for the Webb GI Bill because he was out getting his fundraising on rather than have it on his voting record that he voted against supporting the troops.
Hagel COSPONSORED the Webb GI Bill. Even though Bush did not mention his name in his glowing review and instead mentioned McCain.
Gen Wesley Clark DID NOT impugn McCain's patriotism or his status as a POW. In fact, Gen Clark said that McCain was a hero of his. What Clark -did- say was that being a POW did not necessarily mean that one was qualified to be president, and that was using a repeat of the words in the initial question by the journalist.
McCain now SUPPORTS offshore drilling and has proposed (proposed, not actually put into any real action. Yay, talk cheap) a $300mil prize for a car battery that beats today's electric car batteries. Too bad it might already be in the works. What happens if someone from another country develops the tech? Do they still get the $300mil? If not, I'd be happy to present the idea to McCain, take the $299 mil back to Zenn and keep the $1mil for my troubles.
AMTRAK is seeing an uptick in travelers due to rising fuel costs. YAY! AMTRAK has been screwed over by political games over the past decades and now has 632 usable rail cars (compared to the subway service in NYC which has over 6400 cars). BOO!
McCain OPPOSED subsidies to AMTRAK when he was chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee. BOO!
McCain OPPOSED the Farm Bill.
And finally, yes. Obama appears to pulling Clinton-style politics in regards to FISA. Telecomm immunity BAD. Destroying 4th Amendment rights BAD. REDEFINING the definition of WMDs which conveniently means that the Bush admin did no wrong in declaring war on Iraq? BAD.
Can everyone in the Senate please read the fucking 114 pages of the bill then look me in the eye and tell me it's a good thing? And leave out the patting me on the head and telling me they know best, that it's important they illegally spy on me in order to protect me.
