Pay and bonus
I got an e-mail from HR today telling me how much I'll be making. It's a lot less then what I would make starting in a hospital in Portland, but about the same for starting in a nursing home here in Oregon. Overall it's a nice wage and way more than what I would start out with in pretty much any other industry so I'm pleased with it. The cost of living is also a lot less in North Dakota than in Portland so taking a cut in wage really isn't that bad.
HR also informed me that I'll be getting a $3000 sign on bonus! Half with my first paycheck and half after 6 months. Of course after taxes it will probably be more like $2000 but that's still money I wasn't expecting. Of course I'll have to work for them for 2 years if I take the bonus but that's fine. I think I'm going to try and move back in about 2.5 years. That way I'll have plenty of experience and it will be during the summer so I won't have to worry about moving in the winter (which is going to suck). Overall I am very excited about the future monies I will be making. To celebrate I will use my icon of Ten with a kitten. Because that is tres adorable.
