(no subject)
Hey you guys,
I'm staying at my friends Krsnaa devi dasi and Radha Kunda, her bf's house here in NYC so I'm sorry if I haven't been reading everyone's entries. I am having a great time though. They are taking good care of me and my friend Shakuntala who drove in a couple days ago. There is another girl staying here, Nila, and we are having a lot of fun. The four of us girls - me, Krsnaa, Shakuntala and Nila - were all in Lakshmimoni's ashram once but at different times. Actually it's kind of funny because it was consecutive, first me, then when I left, Shakuntala went in, then when she left Krsnaa went in, then when she left Nila went in. Our ages our consecutive too - me 27, Shakuntala 25, Krsnaa 23 and Nila 18. The cool thing is though is that we all have a fun regardless of our different ages (or maybe I am young at heart :) and Nila is mature for her age, which I think she is). Yesterday we hung around in Times Square, which was a killer because it was pouring rain and it was Nirjala Ekadasi. We also went to Macy's and the girls all tried makeup on. Then we went to a movie. We saw the Break Up - bad choice. Nila had just broken up with a guy and she was sobbing by the end. I felt so bad. This morning I made pancakes for everyone. Krsnaa and Radha's other roommate walked in this morning and when he saw this huge spread of pancakes, whip cream, syrup, strawberries, jam, etc. he was like "BON APPETIT!" haha.
Can't wait for Rathayatra this Saturday. It should be sunny, I just checked the weather. I don't mind if it is rainy and cloudy and cold this whole week if we can have a clear day for Rathayatra.
Tonight there is a performance by the Bhaktivedanta Players (from England) at the Brooklyn temple tonight so I think we are going to that.
Now I am going to finish watching that movie Chicken Little because when everyone was watching it last night I fell asleep.
