strawberrimelon/Draco
~ Part 2 of Trilogy

---

It had been six months.

Six long and painful months since that fateful ball; three long and painful months since she last saw that enigmatic man.

She had been having dreams: strange and seemingly realistic dreams about the blond-haired man that had swept her off her feet in the ball.

She would be reliving the ball in one, and she would have dreamt of the 'what ifs' in another. So far, she had already been through his return, romantic dates, dreamy wedding proposals, beautiful weddings, births of their children, and even their deaths. In those dreams, names were never spoken, but somehow, she felt that she knew.

Draco.

She called him 'Draco'. She spoke of him like she had not only shared one single dance with him, but an entire lifetime. It did feel that way. Before that dance, she was always...always waiting for something to happen. And when it did, she wanted time to freeze. She wanted to be in his embrace forever.

She knew she would never see him again, but she didn't know that it would hurt so much. After all, they had known each other -she couldn't even say that for she didn't even know his name- for a mere hour or two.

She wasn't silly. She knew it was an infatuation. One that she would have to get rid of. One that she would have to gradually forget.

"
strawberrimelon , come on! You're wasting your life away here for him!"
sarahyyy  was saying again.
It wasn't her fault that it hurt. It wasn't her fault that only alcohol could numb her pain.

It was him. It was all his fault.

"Go away." She managed to mumble, but
sarahyyy  was having none of that.

"Come out with me. We'll go out for a simple lunch together. Just the both of us, for some girl talk? Please
strawberrimelon?"

The two young women had known each other since they were sixteen and were the best of friends. At the age of eighteen they had finally met and fulfilled their dreams of moving in Mayfair together.

"I'm tired,
sarahyyy." She took another swig of wine from her wine bottle.

sarahyyy  snatched it away, "I've had enough of this. You are coming out with me today even if I have to drag you there."

She went, in the end, only because she knew she needed to move on. She needed to forget.

The moment they stepped in the classy yet casual coffee house, strawberrimelon felt something light up in her.

And then she turned...

To see him.

His lips quirked up into one of his smiles, the same smile he used when he asked her to dance. And then he stepped forward and held out his arms, like he wanted to hug her.

She flinched. Turning away from him, she grabbed
sarahyyy  by the arm and left the coffee house.

"What are you doing?"
sarahyyy  asked, confused, as she pulled her into an empty alley.

"I saw him."

She gasped. "No..."

strawberrimelon  just nodded, and the tears that she refused to let out of her eyes finally dropped, "I miss him. I don't even know him and I bloody miss him."

sarahyyy  put an arm around her, "Come on, let's just go back."
strawberrimelon  nodded and the both of them turned.

And there he was, standing in front of alley.

They both screamed.

"Relax. I'm not going to hurt you." His words were directed to her. His eyes bore into her and she could feel tears welling up again.

"Go away. I don't want to see you." She tried to sound firm, but it came out more like a plea than anything else. Something inside him crumbles; the twinkle in his eye wasn't there anymore.

"Why? I thought we were doing fine." He had the audacity to ask.

"Doing fine? You left her in the middle of a ballroom after a good ol' snog and that was the last time we were saw you. And suddenly three months later you pop back here and expect everything to be as it was before? Dream on."
sarahyyy  was seething.

"I told you," His words were address only to
strawberrimelon, like he only had eyes for her, "I had to go. I would have stayed if I could, but I had to."

She couldn't speak, so she shook her head. Her eyes were burning with tears that were threatening to fall again, so she let them. "Go." She managed to whisper.

He flinched, but he didn't move. "Please,
strawberrimelon."

The two girls gasped, "How did you know my name?"

"Have you been stalking her?"
sarahyyy  interrupted his explanation.

Finally irritated with
sarahyyy, the man took out his wand and flicked it in her direction.
sarahyyy  fell onto the floor, unable to move.
strawberrimelon  backed away from him, her hands covering her mouth, "What did you do to her? You…killed her?"

"No!" He exclaimed, "I just wanted to talk to you alone. Please." He took two steps towards her.

"No!" She protested, crouching down to her friend, shielding her as if she wanted to protect her, "First you went all crazy on me, disappearing from the face of Earth then you know my name and then you did...magic. Who the hell are you?"

"You know me." He stated simply.

She heard those words before. In one of her earliest dreams about him. It couldn't be… They were just dreams, just "what ifs" she had made up …

Weren't they?

"Draco?" Her eyes opened wide and her mouth dropped open.

He smiled, "I told you. I never really left. I was with you all the time,
strawberrimelon. We spent a lifetime together."

"But…how?"

He gestured towards
sarahyyy  and shrugged. "Sometimes love, dreams aren't really always dreams."

"But…magic doesn't exist! This…is impossible. I'm dreaming again, aren't I?" She felt suffocated. She couldn't breathe. She didn't know exactly what to do. This was against all her beliefs.

"How can I make you believe me?" He asked, frowning.

"Show me."

And so he did. First he woke
sarahyyy  up. And then he showed the both of them his world. What he could do if he wanted to. He showed them magic, which was against wizarding laws itself.

He told them about his story, his life. The war he went through, the many friends he had made at the end of the war... And at the end of the day,
sarahyyy  was dumbfounded. So she left them first, claiming that she needed some time to think.

Now that
strawberrimelon  had understood almost everything in his world, she only had one last question left.

"Why did you leave in the first place?" Her head laid on his shoulder, their hands were clasped together.

"
strawberrimelon, love, I went to get married."
