Well, we know where we're going
Thanks again for the recommendations last time around. I may even figure out where the manga section is at the library (it's somewhere! hiding! probably in children's, unfortunately, which would foil my plans!), to check some things out that way.
This week I got over a mysterious, not-quite-debilitating stabbing stomach pain just in time to get ready for vacation. Hooray! Small vacation, this time around. Four days in the Outer Banks. But it sure beats work, hardy-har.
That's about it. Getting ready for the trip. My sister did bring up the fact that we'll have to skip one of the cons in '09 so I can, you know, plan the wedding and all. Tsubasacon falls a couple of weeks before our intended date range, so it will get the ax. I know that I shouldn't be bummed about this. It's not even a matter of priorities; I prioritize the wedding over cons even despite our unusually laid-back attitude toward the proceedings. It's a matter of "oh shit, I'm supposed to be a grownup now, no more fun ever" taking hold in my lizard hindbrain. I have enough irrational and unfounded fears about What Adulthood is Like without feeding them that way. But I can't help it. Something else to get over, I guess. I will still have that grace period between planning the wedding and having kids (if we have them) in which I can be an individual with, you know, interests and thoughts and a semi-normal sleep pattern. I'll enjoy that time.
