Star Trek Parody

May 27, 2009 22:37

So, a few weeks ago my friends offered me free advance tickets to see Star Trek. I laughed and refused: I had never been able to get through a whole episode of Star Trek.

But I kept hearing about how awesome the new movie was, and so I thought, well, I could use a break from restoring my livejournal.

And then it was awesome. And I wanted to write ( Read more... )

parody, movie parody

I feel strongly that this is more of an accurate recapping and less of a parody.

Agreed. It's funny because it's more or less completely accurate. XD

I probably really shouldn't have read that before I've seen the film, also having never made it through a Star Trek episode. But I was too excited to stop myself! And even though I did not understand it AT ALL you still made me laugh. :D And now I want even more to see this film that I have no proper reasoning beyond 'but it looks AMAZING!' to explain my random desire to watch it!

(And the lightning speed with which you are restoring your journal amazes me. Every time I come and check there are more shining words back in their rightful places and it brings me joy!)

I don't think you need to like Star Trek to like this movie. It helps, but it's not necessary.

The movie is awesome.

From what I have seen and heard, I did not imagine that you would need to.

I really have to go see it. I've been waiting to have some free time and to find someone to go with me. And although neither of these things are going to happen anytime soon (I need to know cooler people!) I think I shall just push aside the important things I have to do and go rock up the cinema on my own at some point this week.

(Incidentally, your icon is both terribly distracting and incredibly wonderful. :D I will always have plenty of time for Neil Gaiman.)
