The Young Veins at the Eagle Theatre
So. We went to the bad rabbits/the young veins/foxy shazam show tonight. I'm shit at writing concert reports so this is going to be abbreviated.
This was the most bizarre experience of my life. Panic fans who have gone to the shows know those boys are more closely guarded then the president. With good reason, they're fans are crazy. But at this show Jon Walker and Ryan Ross were just walking around. So that was strange for me.
I met Jon first. We chatted a little about how I had met him once before at a NDP meet and greet and how I thought it was like going to the zoo. He said something along the lines of 'yeah, and I was the one in the cage'. I told him I was happy for him making the music he wanted to make. He said he was happy and was generally very sweet.
Then bad rabbits came on and they were just as awesome as everyone says they were. At that point I slowly started to make my way towards the front since there was a big opening. After Bad Rabbits I tapped the 6 foot bajillion tall guy in front of me (who was against the stage) and asked if I could take pictures around him during TYV. He said sure and then just gave me his spot against the stage. He said 'I don't even know who these guys are'.
So then then I got to stand against the stage for TYV. I've never been against the stage. SO that was exciting. I asked Jon (who was directly in front of me) if I could have his set list when he was done and he said sure. So I watched them play and they were pretty awesome. There wasn't as much witty banter as I've heard about from other shows, but whatever.
After that I had to vacate the stop so tall guy could have it back. I mostly wandered around during Foxy (I like them, but I like to wander during shows). I talked to Andy from TYV. I got to meet everyone and got them all to sign my set list and take pics. Ryan was the very last to show up. I went over and said 'I hate to ask, but can you sign this' and he said 'don't hate to ask that'. Then he told me to hold on while he put his stuff down. During this makesomelove was clutching my arm and telling me she was going to commit suicide (she's not actually, it's just something she says when she's very excited) and I said 'yeah yeah you're committing suicide' to which Ryan Rossy was like 'what? who?' so that was funny. Then I said it was nice meeting him like this instead of at a meet and greet zoo exhibit. And he was like 'yeah, it was weird. No one would look me in the eyes'.
And so that was it! I had a lot of fun and all the bands were awesome. Now for the part you care about
