I woke up again at 4 this morning -- thanks, jet lag.
I just passed the 10 week mark with my pregnancy, and I had my first pre-natal doctor's appointment yesterday. It went very well and it seems like everything is progressing as it should. I had been irrationally worried that our trip to Turkey somehow messed things up for the baby but the heart beat was picked up by the monitor so apparently baby is still in there :) And my pregnancy is considered low risk, which is very good news. My next appointment is in 6 weeks, with my next ultrasound in 10 weeks.
We do have to make a decision about doing the extra tests for Down's syndrome risk and other neuro disorders. I'm leaning toward no. I mean, if the tests say that there is a high risk, what would we do differently?
Soon I will be officially done with my first trimester. Overall, I think it has gone well. I've only gotten sick once, although there has been plenty of nausea. And I'm not feeling as tired as I was a month or so ago (welll, not pregnancy tired... there's plenty of jet lag tired!).
So upcoming weekend, we tell our families and then start to tell our friends and coworkers. It would be nice to tell everyone in person but I know that is just not possible with families and friends living on all ends of the country.
