Finally, both kids are napping. It's been a busy day.
Amelia started her day at 3:15am. I was downstairs sleeping with Weston on the couch (he woke up at 2am but went back to sleep with some mommy cuddles), and I didn't hear her. Doug got to her after she was already up and calling out for mama and dada (how did I not hear this?). So yeah, she was definitely not going back to sleep easily. Doug brought her in the bed with him and she was up for an hour jumping on him and fighting sleep before I heard her. I brought her downstairs at 5am, and Weston & Amelia and I all cuddled up together and went back to sleep until 7:30.
We took Douglas to school, came home and had cheesy eggs for breakfast and then packed up and headed out to the mall for a play date. Amelia was awesome at the play area. She didn't try to run away once! We had lunch at the food court and called it a day. She fell asleep in the car on the way home and is still napping. Very nice!
I decided to try out using the single stroller for Weston and letting Amelia walk. It did not work out well. She wanted to be carried. Go figure. I know she's not even 2 yet, but with the stroller escaping, I thought maybe she was ready to walk. Definitively not. It's better that I know now than tomorrow. We're planning on going to the aquarium with Kelly and Addison tomorrow. If I would have let her walk then, it would have been a nightmare.
So for now, we're going to stick with the double stroller. Damn beast. In 6 months or so, she'll probably be ready to walk. I hope. I'll bring the harness tomorrow, too, in case she wants to walk some. There are a lot of people at the aquarium (especially with it being spring break in some parts of the area), so I don't want her to run off. She's quick, too, the little thing!
Here are some pictures of Weston. They're a little dark, but I didn't want to open all the blinds because Amelia was napping on the couch behind our photoshoot. :P
