Vegas 2008!

Vegas was a blast!  We had so much fun. I am happy to be home though, especially since I have only slept about 8 hours in the last two days.  So without further ado here is Vegas 2008:

Our plane left at 12:00pm on Monday, which worked out well because Patrick and I got home late Sunday afternoon from Vancouver, BC. This gave me time on Monday morning to pack and hang out with Patrick before heading to the airport.  The flight was fairly uneventful - we were all so excited and couldn't wait to get to Vegas.  Here is a picture I took of Mt. Rainier - I love this picture!

We (me, Martha, Megan, and Brysann) arrived in Vegas and checked into our hotel, Paris. We were offered an upgrade to a $500.00/night suite for just $80.00!  Of course we said yes!  Our room was amazing! It was gigantic, with two bathrooms which worked out well since there were 4 of us.

Here are a few pictures that I took of our hotel:

After getting settled into our room and getting ready for dinner we headed to The Mirage. We ended up eating at a buffet, which was just okay. Nothing too impressive, but we didn't have very much time to eat because we had tickets to:

The show was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! I loved every second of it. I highly, highly recommend it.  It was my first Cirque show, which I have heard is very different from the other shows, but impressive nonetheless.

After the show we did a little bit of gambling and had our first Vegas margarita:)  We were all pretty tired so we headed back to our hotel and were asleep by midnight.

On Tuesday we woke up early and headed to the Paris breakfast buffet.  It was by far our favorite buffet last year, but it didn't seem nearly as great this year.  In addition to that, Megan got really sick after breakfast:(

We spent the next few hours shopping, which was lots of fun before heading to Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden. We got to see dolphins up close, which was so cool as well as some lions, tigers, and jaguars.   The Secret Garden is actually a research center so the animals don't do "shows" - however the trainers do spend quite a bit of time playing around with the dolphins and having them to tricks. It was really neat to see dolphins in this context as opposed to a SeaWorld-type of situation.

On Monday night we had decided that Tuesday night would be our late night out on the town. We really, really, really wanted to get into Pure Nightclub and were lucky enough to meet someone on Tuesday who put us on the guest list.  We didn't know if we could completely trust this person, but we gave them $20.00 and we were on the list!

Pure was soooo amazingly awesome! We didn't see any celebrites, but it was by far my most favorite nightclub experience ever.  Megan and Brysann went back to the hotel at about 11:30pm because they both didn't feel well:( However, Martha and I danced our hearts out until 4am! This is where we spent most of our time:

It is hard to see, but Pure has an outdoor terrace.  Being outside + the view of the Strip + cool music = an amazing night!  We met a great group of guys and girls from Bend, Oregon who we ended up spending most of the evening with. They were really chill and down to earth. We also met two guys from the island of Jersey, in the Channel Islands. They were so cool!

It was such a wonderful feeling having a group of people to dance with, who were all very respectful. Martha and I felt like we had known all of them forever.  The club closed at 4 and we all decided to head back to the casino and hang out and talk until about 5:30.  Then we headed back to our hotel and slept until about 10am.

Checkout was 11am on Wednesday so we were only able to sleep a few hours.  We were pretty tired, but it was so worth it.  We spent Wednesday bumming around.  We started with a crepe breakfast (in Paris), which was delicious! Then I ran into Tiger Woods and we played some golf:) Okay, just kidding. We went to the Wax Museum, which was very cool.

Martha and Madonna:

We gambled a bit more and then had dinner before heading to the airport. Our flight left at 9:30pm and I got home at about 1:30am this morning.  I am a tired girl!

It was such a wonderful trip. The highlights were definitely the Cirque show and dancing at Pure.

And that's it. Vegas 2008.

I'm off to take a nap:)  I hosted a brunch at my house this morning for my grade level team at school (bad planning on my part) and had to bail on some plans for tonight. I just want to chill at home. Tomorrow my BIL and SIL arrive and will be with us all weekend.  Somewhere in there I need to work on report cards, grrrr.....

Hope you all are doing well. I will try to catch up later today and tomorrow.
