POMONA AND VERTUMNUS
  1. Pomona is a wood nymph who loves nature and  had a passion for caring for the plants and trees and flowers… etc.
  2. Vertumnus is the god of springtime and he is in love with Pomona.
  3. Vertumnus dresses up in costumes to try and attract the attention of Pomona, with no avail. He is afraid that being himself is not good enough for the beautiful Pomona.
  4. Vertumnus wants to be near her, to gaze at her beauty, wish her good morning, or even just talk to her. To win her love over would be the best thing ever for him.
  5. Vertumnus as an old woman says that Pomona should be afraid of offending Aphrodite for ignoring her urges to love or find a suitor.

MYRRHA
  1. Aphrodite instills the power of love, and a passion for her own father. Aphrodite does this because Myrrha turns away all other suitors, so is angry and tells her she can’t escape from love.
