FOUND:This morning while walking to work Megan and I passed a lot of garbage - trash day! - including a sickly Boston Fern in a flesh-colored (gag) planter. We passed it and then I had to go back. I rescued it from the quickly approaching garbage truck fate that awaited it.   Perfect timing since today is Plant Day With Jack. I have my plant books ( Read more... )

Tonight is one year since the night we took Scruff into the hospital for his first cancer-related episode.
And tomorrow will be one year since that horrible, exhausting day. Horrible and exhausting but also ok since the events of that day gave us 9 more wonderful months with him...

On Sunday morning I'm pretty sure we almost lost Scruffy.

Around 7am while the sleet and rain where tearing up the side of the house, he came scrambling into the bedroom, waking Mark and I up. Today I'm playing hookie to take my little orange gentleman to a follow-up visit with his oncologist.

I got to sleep in, have cinnamon buns with Mark (who is now at Costco with a coworker to buy cheap dvds, and he's there with strict instructions to buy me a BUCKET of SOMETHING, ha!) and now I'm lounging around, thinking about packing up the cat to ( Read more... )
