I've had a very interesting week. So far, 2007 is just odd.
I started 2007 off at our friend's parents' house in LI. Jared and I were sick just before that. We had some stomach virus thing. My sister had it too, so we think it came from one of my little cousins at Christmas. We played some fun games and watched the ball drop and were there til about 1:30-2. I think we finally went to sleep around 3.
Jared had Tuesday off because it was a national day of mourning for Pres. Ford and since the stock market was closed, his company was closed. I took the day off because the week prior I was in everyday while my co-workers took off, so I figured I was due for at least a day. It was a good thing too because Monday (the day we would have traveled) was pouring and windy. There was no way we were going to travel especially on a ferry in the rain, rocking A LOT, after JUST having a stomach virus. Right. So we were much better off traveling Tuesday anyway. We got home around 6-6:30 and after being sick and away from home for 5 days, oh it felt so good. Now it's Friday and I'm so tired from this week. I can't wait to just relax and sleep in a bit tomorrow.
So all you graphic design NU kids out there will find this funny. I'm being followed by Tom Starr. After not seeing him since leaving NU, I saw him twice in 2 days. I saw him Wed night on the train, he was reading his paper on the seat to the left and one ahead of mine. Then, yesterday, saw him and his mini at petco in Dedham. So weird! Still hasn't noticed/recognized me, but still funny.
Why were we in petco? We were getting supplies for our KITTY! We're getting a cat (probably tomorrow). That was my gift from Jared this year. I'd like a dog, but we can't have one right now with the hours we work. A cat is still really really fun though. I really can't wait. It's been so long since I had a pet. My last pet was my cat, Holly. I got her when I was 5 because I had my tonsils removed really close to Christmas and Dad knew I wanted a kitten. So along came Holly *snigger* Then a year and a half later she was hit by a truck and that was that. Mom said no more pets for anyone and that was that. She's not an animal person. She likes other people's pets, but hates having one. So that was about 20 years ago. Couldn't have a pet in school (hamsters and guinea pigs are cool, but I want something that doesn't live in a cage). Couldn't have one in the last two apartments. So I'm really excited about getting a cat tomorrow. I'll post photos as long as we find a cat we want. I think we will.
Work has been busy, but not crazy. It's a nice change having some time to actually work on stuff, not just rushing to get it done. I've also finally updated my personal website, just the homepage so far, but I'll email everyone when it's ALL done.
That's about it for me I think. Just a crazy start to 2007.
