tired, sore, and happy

hello everyone. i haven't updated in a while.....so here is something boring for you to read.

i just got back from d.c......what a totally awesome place. i went on the march for life, which is always great. this time, we weren't there for very long. i went with madonna univ. (my school lol). we left at 6:00 Sunday night, and drove all night. i fell asleep somewhere in ohio and when i woke up we were outside the basilica in d.c. so, basically, i was the only one on the whole bus who got a good night's sleep, and i owe it all to my mom's neck pillow that i stole for the trip. anyway, we arrived in d.c. at about 5:00 am or something like that. a few of us stayed on the bus to sleep some more, and the rest went in to get some breakfast from the cafeteria. we had mass at 7:30 or somewhere in that vicinity of time, and the basilica was so packed that those of us who slept those extra few hours had to stand on the side facing the alter against the wall and watch the mass on t.v, even though we were there. i felt like a reject. anyway, after that, we took the metro to union station and had breakfast (pizza lol). then me, steve, samantha, jen, rob, toby, melissa, and karen toured the whole fricking city of d.c. seriously. we saw the lincoln monument and i got my picture on the stairs holding the washington monument in my hand. i also got another one with it coming out of my head. we saw the washington monument and the new world war II memorial, which is supposedly contraversial but none of us could figure out why, we saw the albert einstein statue thing, and i think we saw some other stuff but i don't really remember. mostly we were just walking and joking around. kind of a repeat of last year, but with different people. anyway, it was raining but not too much. so then we met up with the rest of the group (we were like 2 hours late, but it didn't really matter because the only thing we missed was the boring rally. the only problem was we had the poles for our banner. yes, the guys had to carry two 7-ft poles around d.c.) we stood around for about another hour in the mud, and fr. xavier tried to get everyone to sing his little pro-life ditties, but they were kind of corny so nobody really got into it. (they were to the tune of songs like the pink panther and the brady bunch.) we finally started walking, we prayed the rosary, and then started making up our own little ditties that weren't so cheesy. three of us made up like 4 different cheers and songs that actually caught on. later we heard other groups singing them. i was chosen to be the head of the singing committee, which involved singing and cheering into a megaphone. at first i didn't want to at all, but they begged me so what could i say? i was reluctant, but after a little while i actually started to enjoy it. so we walked for something like 1 or 2 hours, i'm not really sure, and then we stopped at the supreme court building, prayed a decade of the rosary, got a pic taken, and then made our way back to union station. also, i forgot to say this: in front of the supreme court building we saw the only pro-choice people (there were like 5 of them) and they had a few signs and stuff, and they were standing in a group saying stuff in a megaphone but you couldn't hear what they were saying because they were surrounded by pro-life people who were cheering and singing and praying, and i saw the funniest thing ever....some guy was standing by them with his rosary, chanting something, and throwing holy water on them. (on the pro-choice protesters) i don't know, i just thought it was hilarious. anyway, on the way back to union station, i saw jackie delyon, who none of you know, but she was my roommate when i was in rome for a month, and i have known her forever, and we have done a lot of stuff together, and she is from petoskey, and i she is now a coworker for a year in d.c. I was really surprised to see her and we screamed and hugged and all that girly stuff, and talked forever, and then i was lost from my group so i had to go, but it was really awesome to see her. i caught up with the girls and we got mcdonalds, and then starbucks, and then left. on the bus, i played euchre (a rematch from the way there) with steve, rob, and toby. toby and i were the champions. then i fell asleep. i didnt' sleep that good this time, though, because my legs hurt soooo bad. we got back to madonna at like 4:00 am, and then we had to drive to st. mary's to pick up the rest of our cars, so i got home around 5:30. i slept until 1:00 this morning, and when i woke up i couldn't move because i was soooo sore. i feel better now, though, and i have a lot of homework to do, so i should get to work. pistons are on tonight!!!!!!!!
