(no subject)
after yet another long unnanounced absense, i'm back
i was in england first, in glympton, where all the connections are CRAP, so i couldn't get online much. and now i'm in jeddah, in saudi, and it took me AGES to figure out how to connect here, but i got it eventually. so, anyways. not much has happened. threw tom's birthday party. that was fun. we got a table at attica, and i got in with a few of the people there for being nice and spending lots ^_^. including one of the bouncers, which is always a good thing. bella got WASTED, tho, and tom insisted on taking her home. nabs *might* have gotten her man (her horoscope said she was gonna meet the man of her dreams or something on that day), except that lily really liked him, too, so that might end in tears. oh well. good choice tho, he was SERIOUSLY hot. short black hair, dark skin, GORgeous eyes, really nice body (kinda like me ;) just not QUITE as hot. close, tho). really nice guy, too. so, anyways, nabs spent the night with me in Khalids place. she got khalids room, and i got my old room. i luv that girl. so, morning after, nabs and tom (who didn't drink much at all) have the BIGGEST hang overs, and dee, geeg, and bella (who each drank enough to last them the whole year) were perfectly fine. i didn't drink that night, cuz the security guy asked me not to, and he was nice about it, so it was cool. so, now i'm in saudi, and i've been doing bugger all besides playing onimusha and hanging out at my aunts' place. i've got some really good ideas that i wanna get going on, but i don't have anything here i can work with. besides, i wanna make them fairly good sized, and i don't wanna be lugging big humps of clay around everywhere. i might just leave them for eton. if i can figure out how to do them, then i'm sure i'll get some good marks on them. read if you like:
1) gonna go back to that masquerade thingy, except i plan on finishing it this time. i might start with that one, so i can figure out what i'm doing. basically, it's a painting of a masquerade, where everyone is essentially fading away in all their big gowns and fancy masks, and theres a guy in the front extending his hand to invite you in. but the cool part is that he's actually coming out of the painting. the way i'm gonna do it is i'm gonna sculpt the guy, with a square base behind him, then get some of that "make your own canvas" stuff that my sister always uses and put that over the sides after i've baked and glazed the guy. or i might just use normal clay (the kind that you only have to let dry or sit or whatever) and just paint it normally. that'd probably be easier. then i could use a wood base, too, which the canvas is made to adhere to anyways... yeah, i'll do that.
2)okay, remember the one i was gonna do of the guy jumping off a building? ah, screw it, i'll just explain the whole thing. okay, so, this one's another painting with 3-d parts, like the last one. so, the painting part is four panels. one of a guy in a diver's position on a window sill, the other of his feet just after he's jumped off, the third of his torso in midair, and the fourth of his hands just before he hits the ground (still in a diver's position type thing). and then the 3d part is gonna be a pair of legs coming out of the center, as if it were someone who had just dived into water. i'm gonna try and get the clay or whatever to look as much like a concrete sidewalk as i can. no clue how i'm gonna do that. might take a few tries, but i'll get it eventually.
3) right. so. sculpture of a figure crouching/bending over, head facing up, screaming. out of rage/madness/disbelief/whatever. what i'd like to do is video tape someone laughing and smiling and stuff like that and use a projector to get it to show up on the statue's face, but i might just have to paint it on. either way, it should be good.
i really wanna get to work on jaya's thing, too. i've painted the background, and stenciled on the rest so i have some guidelines for later, but thats all i had a chance to do. the canvas is back in DC. i still have to paint on stars in the back, get the little gust of pink wind thing right, paint on the figure... and i'll probably have to do another one cuz i'm only just learning how to paint with acrylics. =p
besides that, not too much is going on. i'm gonna go sift through my messages on deviant, and check journals, that sorta thing. byeee
